The First Music Recital Successfully Held
21 Nov 2023
Students from Primary and Junior Secondary Schools took turns performing on the stage, demonstrating their musical talents in songs, dance moves and a musical play. The student and parent audience were immersed in the music notes and enjoyed the stage performances a lot.
Openness is the annual theme for this year's performance season. Our Performing Arts Department encouraged students to explore different genres of music and try different kinds of performances they never experienced before, with an open-minded attitude.
There were diverse array formats of performances including choir, orchestra, vocal and piano solos, musicals etc., covering a wide range of music styles, such as classical, pop and film soundtracks.
The recital not only showeds the open minds to the world of music, but also the talents and passions of BBSG students.
As the first formal music event concert in the school's inaugural year, the recital presented the joint effort of teachers and students, as well as the friendship and trust among the school community.
The Director of Performing Arts, Mr. Delano, and the music teacher, Mr. Yu, both recognised the students' hard work in daily practice and rehearsal, and were proud of their great progress, especially in the group performances, where they learned to cooperate, listen carefully to each other for the harmonious artwork.
Mr. Yu further added, "Many students proactively signed up for the audition, even those with no stage experience. Teachers will arrange certain performances at assemblies, or major school events, for instance the New Year's gathering, offering various opportunities for students based on their skill levels, encouraging them to take every solid step forward and adapt to being in the spotlight."
The audience expressed themselves in rounds of applause, cheering for the students' achievement, andtheir sincere wishes for the students' future exploration of music and performing arts.
Congratulations on the success of the first show of the performance season. We look forward to more brilliant programmes in the coming future, where students can developand demonstrate their talents in music and performing arts.
