BBSG Held the first GBA CUP
01 Dec 2023
Organised by PacificPine Sports and sponsored by CTF Education Group, the GBA Cup drew more than 400 athletes from over 30 schools from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhuhai, competing in basketball and football games, as well as tennis and golf matches.
It is the first large-scale sports event featuring the founding students of BBSG. In addition to promoting hard work to achieve best performances on the field, BBSG also encourages students to graciously host visitors, engage in friendly competition with peers, and build new friendships and connections through sports.
“In the past two days, we have witnessed the outstanding performance, perseverance and sportsmanship of our contestants,” said Jennifer Ma, Executive Supervisor of BBSG. “We are proud of everyone!”

Where Dreams Meet Sports
The young athletes of BBSG exhibited excellence on and off the field – making their parents, peers, coaches, and teachers proud. At basketball and football games, BBSG players controlled the ball, showing true team spirit and sportsmanship.
G6 - Rayna J:
“Scoring a goal in the competition was unforgettable. Scoring is not rare for me in training, but what’s more exciting than hitting the goal in a real game.”

G4 - Kimi F:
“The support and encouragement from my friends are what I value most. Scoring a goal or not doesn’t matter. And This is the first large-scale sports tournament organised by my school. I hope I can join again next time.”

Chinese Principal, Louisa Shen:
“We are very proud of our students for their efforts, teamwork and sportsmanship while competing in a new team established less than three months ago. We look forward to welcoming students from different cities and schools to build up the energetic and healthy campus within BBSG, promoting sports to everyone in their daily life routines.”

Student Parent - G6 Rayna:
“The competition meant a lot to my child, and she was so looking forward to it. The students worked very hard during their trainings and the competitions. I think it was an excellent learning opportunity for them. Gaining the courage to face setbacks and frustrations is more significant than enjoying success."

Executice International Head, Paul Rogers:
“It is lovely to see all the students and parents enjoying the competitions and all our sports facilities. We hope to welcome more schools and of course the wider community to BBSG in the future, to engage not only in sports, but also in STEAM, music and arts too.”

The GBA Cup ended in a festive closing awards ceremony. Congratulations to the winning athletes and teams from each school, and thanks to all the contestants and teachers for their hard work, sweat, and dedication!
A GBA celebration for sports, an education focus of BBSG
Sports is not all about competitions. Students will not only learn the importance of following rules, respecting the competitors and referees, but also learn to win and lose with a positive mindset, and continue to improve and grow on both their advantage and disadvantage areas. In addition to professional techniques and skills, they will be able to cultivate personal qualities, such as teamwork, resilience, leadership, and so on. All of this is of great importance to the complete development of individual students and to be well prepared for the future.
We appreciate everyone for their support in the GBA Cup and will continue to explore the innovation of sports education and offer more opportunities to our students and community in the future.
