BBSG House Football Tournament
27 Mar 2024
BBSG kicked off our very first football tournament this week, teams from four Houses: KAPOK, ZIWEI, GINKGO and WUTONG put on their best efforts and competed fiercely in three different grade groups.
Wearing their House colours, students dashed across the field. They demonstrated skills, passion and determination in a competitive sport. Every brilliant dribble and shot brought cheers from teammates on the sidelines and teachers and students in the stands. And we have G5 students for cheerleading performance.
The competition between the higher grade levels brought the highlight of the tournament, but our younger players showed no less perseverance. Melon H from Grade 1 fell on the field, but he stood up immediately and ran right back to the game where his team needed him.
Our female students also performed pretty well in the tournament, demonstrating their brilliant skills and sportsmanship spirits.
This match was not only a test of skills and physicality but also an embodiment of teamwork and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Particularly in the G3-G5 group, the ZIWEI team fell behind 1-3 against the KAPOK team. However, through relentless effort, they caught up and, at the very last minute of the game, Andy W (G5) scored a goal, leading the team to an exciting comeback victory.
"Thank you to my teammates, they passed the ball to me accurately at a crucial moment, and we were all thrilled for this winning goal." While Max M from the KAPOK team felt upset about the final score, he still showed praise to the Zinnia team, saying, "The opponents were very strong, and I especially admire their never-give-up spirit. I hope to improve my skills and compete for the championship in future matches."
After intense competition, champions emerged in each category, and the MVPs from each academy were selected. Congratulations to the winners! However, beyond the joy of victory, this football match allowed students to deeply experience the power of teamwork and the happiness that sports bring.

Our students gave their all on the football field, and showcased their resilience and teamwork, embodying the BBSG core value of 'COURAGE' They gained not only friendship and personal growth but also an unyielding spirit.
