What a fantastic day it was at BBSG’s annual Sports Day! Our four Houses—Ginkgo, Kapok, Ziwei, and Wutong—gathered on the sports field. The excitement was palpable as students showcased their sporting spirit!
The Houses went head-to-head in thrilling events such as sprints, long-distance runs, relays, long jumps, throwing, and skipping. In the afternoon, the community participated in fun activities like tug-of-war and sponge relays, all striving to earn points for their Houses.
The highly anticipated school mascot, the BBSG Bear, made its debut at the Sports Day. It led warm-up dances and passionately cheered for the athletes. With its "bear hugs" of encouragement, it captured everyone’s attention and truly embodied the spirit of the best cheerleader!
The BBSG Olympics
At BBSG’s partner school, Benenden School in the UK, physical education is integral to its commitment to Complete Education. Same as Benenden, BBSG offers a variety of athletic options to promote physical health and teamwork skills among students.
The BBSG Sports Day is a highly anticipated annual event. It provides a platform for our community to showcase their athletic talents while embodying the Olympic spirit of sportsmanship.
The spirit of sport shone brightly on the field. Students gave their all, demonstrating teamwork and resilience. They competed fairly whilst forging lasting friendships more precious than victory. Most importantly, they learned to embrace success, accept defeat gracefully, and discover the pure joy of sport.

The atmosphere was electric as the four Houses fiercely competed in various events, enthusiastically supported by their teammates. From first graders to secondary students, everyone pushed themselves to their limits in pursuit of their House’s glory. They all embodied the true spirit of the championship.
A Community Gathering
The BBSG Sports Day is all about community participation. Staff and parents took on various roles, contributing to the success of this grand event. They also enjoyed the uplifting power of exercise in the beautiful winter sunshine.

Dads competed in a 50-metre sprint on the track for house points—what a show!

Congratulations to Ginkgo House for winning the championship with the highest points! What a perfect ending to the Sports Day!
As the sun set, the vibrant House sportswear and laughter created a lively atmosphere on campus. We are all winners, having shared in the joy and spirit of sports. The essence of athletics goes beyond this event. It plays a vital role in promoting the long-term well-being of the BBSG community. We look forward to witnessing our talented athletes shine in future competitions!
