Festive Melodies at BBSG Winter Concerts
23 Dec 2024
The afternoon sun bathed the winter campus in a warm glow as students and parents arrived for BBSG's annual Winter Concert, held at the festive turn of the year.
Filled with the warmth of the season and hopes for the New Year, BBSG Primary students and teachers took to the stage for two Winter Concerts. They performed charming renditions of classic English songs, complete with delightful "adaptations."
Heartfelt choruses, graceful traditional dances, melodious orchestral sounds, and crisp percussion created a tapestry of seasonal imagination.
Some students put on thick, woolly hats and held jingle bells. Their cheerful sounds echoed the essence of winter.
"No Snow in Guangzhou," the longing for a winter wonderland became an inspiration for both teachers and students where they chose to infuse light humour into their performances.
Music at BBSG begins in Grade 1 and is a compulsory part of the curriculum, forming an essential component of our Complete Education. The concerts featured both first-time performers and seasoned artists. Teachers incorporated various performance styles, giving all students opportunities to showcase their talents.
Through collective performances, students learned how different vocal parts work together to create harmonious and beautiful music. This experience is an indispensable aspect of music education.
As the concert drew to a close, the warm festive spirit lingered on. Our hearts were filled with the joy and warmth conveyed by the students. We take pride in their growth and progress on their musical journeys. We look forward to creating more beautiful memories through music with the BBSG community in the coming days.
