At the start of the new term, we are excited to welcome three new members joining the management team. They are: Jakub Peciak, Academic Principal, Bobby Zhang, Head of Primary and Deputy Head of Moral Education, and Dr Tony Chen, STEAM Innovation Director.

Jakub Peciak

Academic Principal

Mr Peciak holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Oxford and has nearly 15 years of teaching and management experience in bilingual and international schools. He has successfully led three schools in obtaining the IB Bilingual Education Authorisation.

In his daily practice, Mr Peciak focuses on elevating student outcomes across all age levels through home-school partnerships, data-driven assessment systems, and individualised student focus. As a multilingual and multicultural learner, he is proficient in Polish, Chinese and English.

Bobby Zhang

Head of Primary and Deputy Head of Moral Education

Mr Zhang has 20 years of working experience in the field of bilingual and international education and 13 years of experience in curriculum integration. He has held important management positions such as Primary School Principal in several renowned schools in Guangzhou. He had been invited to attend the IB Global Annual Meeting for five consecutive years and gave a keynote speech at the IB China Annual Meeting.

Mr Zhang holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from South China Normal University. In the evolving world, he emphasises the unique "emotional skills" of human beings and pays particular attention to pastoral care, personalised pathways, moral education and parent-school collaborations.

Dr Tony Chen

STEAM Innovation Director

Dr Chen is a highly respected expert in the field of STEAM Education with 10+ experiences of teaching and management on computer science, AI, Design and Technology (DT), science and interdisciplinary learning.

Having had obtained his PhD degree (Waseda University) and post-doctoral fellowship (CREST R&D Centre), Japan and USA respectively, Dr Chen has extended experience in leading academic research in a key university for 3 years, establishing and managing bilingual and international schools based in both Yangtze River Delta and Great Bay Area by taking leadership responsibilities. 

Additionally, as a Japan MEXT Global COE Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award winner, Dr Chen owns many patents and has published 3 high quality SCI-indexed journal papers and 20+ international conference papers as the 1st author.

As experienced leaders with outstanding achievements in bilingual and international curriculums, moral education, and STEAM education, they share the same ethos with BBSG. Bringing in more experience of success and innovative ideas, they will explore more innovative ways to implement Future Ready Complete Education, and unleash the unlimited potential of BBSG students and the whole community, together with the current management team.

Information sessions of Primary and Secondary

With extensive frontline teaching and teacher training experience, Ms Helen Gong, Head of Junior Secondary, will join hands with Mr Peciak and Mr Zhang to introduce the curriculum and key features of each school section. Prospective families will learn more about how we educate and support students of different age groups for their academic and personal development.

Helen Gong

Head of Junior Secondary

Ms Gong graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University and was awarded a half scholarship for a Master’s in Private School Leadership from Teachers’ College, Columbia University in the U.S. She has held middle and senior management positions at many well-known international schools in Australia and China and served as an IBO Examiner, workshop leader for teachers as well as school accreditation visiting team member for a long period of time. She is a joint school visiting team member of CIS (Council of International Schools), WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges). Her school accreditation experience includes top-ranking international schools both in mainland China and the Hong Kong area.

In addition, Ms Gong is also the founder and chief writer of an international education WeChat account. She especially focuses on thinking and research on children's philosophy and youth critical thinking and leadership.

One-of-a-kind STEAM Experience

A wide range of robotic (Vex, Makeblock and Sphero bolt) programs will be conducted by Dr Chen and his team at Innovation Centre, where prospective students can take part in. In addition, we also provide FlightGear flight simulator, drone competitions, 3D design and printing, Kodu game programming, Scratch/Python/C++ programming, Arduino+, sensors, Minecraft, VR and math modelling. A taste of our lessons

On the Day, prospective students will be able to experience some of our subject lessons, including Chinese, Mathematics, English, Science, Drama, Biology and Visual Arts.
