nrichment Programmes to Explore Passion
08 Mar 2024
The Enrichment Programme is an integral part of the ‘Future Ready Complete Education’ at BBSG. We offer a diverse range of activities focusing on academics, arts, sports, social studies, etc., which allows students to explore their talents and potentials, following their bents.
Student Clubs
This term, the school embedded "Passion Time" in the Enrichment Programmes, inspiring students to further hone their passions in various fields and develop social and leadership skills, as well as promoting Student Agency in the community.
Our students from senior grades of Primary and from Junior Secondary were given a chance to develop and lead their own Student Clubs. At the first Co-curricular Activities Programme (CCA) and Passion Time presentation, the student club leaders presented highlights of their activities and plans with confidence.
Dora L (Grade 7) from the Economy Club and Kevin L (Grade 6) from the History Club impressed everyone with her/his speech and knowledge in their own fields.
As club leaders, they not only shine on their own but also aim to lead clubs with the support of teachers and inspire each other with clubmates sharing the same passion. We hope that through the experience of student-initiate and student-led clubs, students will gradually develop a sense of ownership and a proactive self-drive, working together with each other to build a learning community at BBSG.
Enrichment Programmes
Furthermore, this term's Enrichment Programmes are diverse and exciting, offering nearly 40 activities across seven fields: Chinese, Maths, English, Arts, Social Studies, STEAM, and Sports, supporting students to pursue academic excellence and to explore a wider range of interests.
CCA is conducted by our teachers. During the presentation, over 30 CCA leaders spoke to the students about the content and projected outcomes of their activities. All students were excited to witness some live examples, such as Ms Lan, Benenden Radio Presenter, introduced the "Build Your Own Radio Show" with a lively and interesting animation dubbing, Mr Guo, the STEAM Innovation Lead, vividly illustrated the charm of “Data Visualisation” with a question that was close to daily life, and student, Ann N from G5, performed on the stage for the “Dance Exploration”.
We also invite professional teams into our school to provide Extra-curricular Activities (ECA) for students at different professional levels.
To encourage students to develop a sense of ownership and actively consider every choice they encounter in their growing path, the Enrichment Programme team arranged taste ECA lessons for students, enabling them to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential projects before making their participation choices.
BBSG is committed to implementing "Future Ready Complete Education" both in and beyond the classroom. By participating in a diverse array of Enrichment Programmes and Passion Time, students can explore various professional areas in disciplinary learning, understand the connections between subject knowledge, skills, and real-life practice, as well as be leaders in their own fields. This approach helps students discover their true passions and create infinite possibilities for the future.
