Programme:
Unique Inquiry-based Curriculum Framework Supported by Maker-Centered Learning Programme
BKG has established a Complete Education curriculum system. Our core programme features a bilingual, inquiry-based approach integrated with real-world contexts. Signature courses include Language and Early Literacy, Maker-Centered Learning, and Arts, while extended programs encompass Physical Education, Music, Nature Exploration, Community Service, and more.
Building upon the IB framework of Kindergartens under Victoria Educational Organisation (Hong Kong), we have developed BKG's distinctive inquiry-based learning system. From "Understanding Myself" to "Me and the World," from cultural diversity to biodiversity, and from classroom explorations to community studies, we aim to inspire children to discover the wonders of the world through hands-on inquiry.
Our partner, VEO in Hong Kong, launched a pilot research programme in 2018 in collaboration with Harvard Graduate School of Education's *Project Zero*. BKG will adopt this Maker-Centered Learning (MCL) framework. The "Maker-Centered Learning" approach supports the development of young students' maker capacities while also nurturing other generative cognitive dispositions and habits of mind at this early stage of learning and development. Throughout the process, we guide children to observe everyday objects carefully, understand their structures, unleash creativity, and redesign items. BKG's MCL education lays a solid foundation for students' future advancement into higher-level STEAM learning.
