Taking part in sports activities is paramount to each student’s educational experience in a school which offers ‘a complete education’. Benenden School Guangzhou, through our CCA programmes enhance the already extensive curriculum on offer to our students through a range of sporting opportunities for those who wish to participate. We have excellent sporting facilities which match our desire to have the very best sporting programmes for all the students (of all sporting abilities) in our care. Sports CCAs also give the opportunity for students to learn to work with others and through fun personal challenges, understand the importance of physical fitness. As with all our co-curricular programmes, we employ only the best teachers and trainers, and through our programme ensure contributions to a wide variety of sporting team fixtures, one-off competitions, tournaments, and membership of a variety of national and international sports groups.

Early Years

Nursery - K3

Benenden Kindergarten Guangzhou (BKG) offers a premium early years experience for children aged 2-6, launching in September 2025 within the BBSG campus.

BKG features a bilingual, inquiry-based core currirulum under the Compelete Education philosophy, nurturing curiosity, creativity and future-ready skills. Signature courses include Language and Early Literacy, Maker-Centered Learning, and Arts, while extended programs encompass Physical Education, Music, Nature Exploration, Community Service, and more.

Primary

Grade 1 - 5

The BBSG primary curriculum is aligned and fulfils the requirements of the Chinese National Curriculum, helping students to build strong academic foundations, bilingual and bi-literate competencies. At the same time, we offer a featured curriculum, the Enrichment Programmes and Signature Programmes to help students achieve all-rounded development through transdisciplinary learning, inquiry-based learning, and inclusive Teaching Pedagogy.

Junior Secondary

Grade 6-8

The curriculum integrates international curriculum elements into the Chinese National Curriculum, enriching the breadth of disciplinary and the interdisciplinary learning while building strong academic foundations and bilingual and biliterate competencies, which helps students smoothly ascend to the international curricular in senior secondary. We also offer a wide range of Student Development opportunities, such as QUEST and Student Clubs, to encourage students to further explore and pursue their passions.

Senior Secondary

Grade 9-12

The Senior Secondary offers a variety of curricular options (IGCSE, A-Level, CNC and Pre-AP) recognised by universities around the world, providing students with a solid academic foundation for future success. We offer five academic tracks based on the variety of A-Level courses and our insights into individual students’ needs, together with the one-on-one university counsultation support, to further inspire students to achieve a clear focus that will strongly contribute to their success in top-tier universities around the world.
