STEAM
In an increasingly technological world, where we are often overwhelmed with scientific and technical information, it is important that students are able to benefit from the ability to analyse data, contextualise information, seek multiple solutions to an ill-defined problem without a fixed answer, prototype creative ideas, and apply their learning across different disciplines to the world we live in. To support this approach to learning, Benenden has developed a wide range of projects, in conjunction with renowned organisations and university research groups, allowing students to participate in scientific inquiry and engineering practices alongside scientists, engineers and designers who are working on explanations of this complex world and solutions to real world problems.
We believe that by offering students the opportunity to work on research and practice in this manner, they will be better equipped to overcome the challenges and problems that are an everyday occurrence in STEAM and innovation and have a better understanding of the plethora of roles available to them in the future. More importantly, they will become critical thinkers, innovative, problem solvers, collaborative team players, expressive presenters, risk takers and challenge champions.
